Colgate Sensitive Pro-relief

I have been using this toothpaste since it first came out. Recently they have been looking for customers to trial this product, so I thought its about time to write a review on it.

About the product:

- £3.56

- With their unique Pro-Argin technology, Colgate Sensitive Pro-relief is clinically proven to provide instant (when applied to individual sensitive for one minute), superior (compare to other Potassium and Strontium based sensitive toothpastes) lasting relief from the pain of sensitive teeth.

-  9 out of 10 Dentists who tried it would recommend it to their patients for sensitive teeth (Independent survey of Dentists who recommend toothpastes, April 2011)

My review:

I have been using this toothpaste everyday, twice a day for the past few months, but I don't see a particular difference compared to other toothpastes. The only reason why I'm still using it, is because I mentally assume it is working. And it does taste better than other sensitive toothpastes. Another reason is because my hygienist did recommend the toothpaste to me.

Anyway, I had two opportunities to test the rubbing in method during the past several months, where I had to go to the dentist for a clean. The worst time for my sensitive teeth is when the hygienist tries to grind off the plague from between my gums. So, I rubbed the toothpaste in for a minute and kept it on (I assume you have to leave it on without rinsing it off, as I could not find this information anywhere from Colgate) before I went to see her.

Verdict? The cleaning is just as painful as without the toothpaste. Perhaps its more for daily sensitivity, e.g. cold drinks or strong flavoured cheese?

Again, I kept on using this toothpaste because I assume it is working, as I do not recall having any problem eating my food or feeling any weakness in my teeth during the day.

Free Sample (this has now finished but the challenge is still on)

Colgate is still doing the sensitivity challenge, if you are interested in trying it out yourself, click here (to go to their official website), you'll be asked to fill in a form so they can send you a 22ml sample tube, and you will be contacted again in 2 weeks time online to fill in a short survey.
