Kikkoman Soya Sauce and Sushi - The Easy Way

I've mentioned before that I looove Soya Sauce before when I introduced you to the sauces I can't live without. When I say love, I really mean it. I don't use soya sauce for making food more tasty. I find food that go with it so I can eat it :)


One of the best soya sauce out there is Kikkoman, a Japanese soya sauce. If I eat anything fishy like Sushi, I have to use Kikkoman. It takes away the fishiness and makes it so much nicer to eat. Or, well, the fish makes the soya sauce yummier for me? Hehe.

By chance I found out that the lovely PRs from FML PR are working with Kikkoman as well, how delighted was I! I told them I love that sauce and they send me 2 bottles of it to refill my almost gone stock, thanks so much!

So now I need to find something to go with it! Sushi would go perfectly, but I can't be bothered to wrap and roll. So I thought it would be nice to show you the easier way of cooking and eating sushi.



That's right, put the rice in a bowl, filling on top, I didn't do it here but sprinkle some seaweed and there you go! Sushi, the easy way!

Ingredients:

For Sushi Rice (the following is the ratio, 2cups should work for 2-3 adults)

1cup Japanese Sushi Rice
15ml Rice Vinegar
10g Sugar (adjustable)
5g Salt (adjustable)

1. Stir the vinegar, sugar and salt until dissolved

2. Cook rice until all water is absorbed (I have a rice cooker so I can't help much here, google for how to cook sticky rice perhaps?)

3. Quickly pour the rice out into a big bowl (wider the better) and pour the seasoned vinegar in. Quickly stir until evenly distributed, spread evenly in the bowl and let it cool (The vinegar help prevent bacteria growth)

Filling (Feel free to use whatever you want)

1can Tuna, drained and flaked
1can Sweetcorn, drained
Mayonnaise
Sugar and Salt to season

- Mix all together

For Seaweed

- Use scissors to cut them into very fine strips

To season:

Kikkoman Soya Sauce
Wasabi (if you like)

Now even you can have sushi at home, enjoy!
