Barbie: The Princess and The Popstar DVD

It's great that there are toys out there that lasts through generations, connecting us with our children. For example, LEGO and Barbie. Barbie has changed so much from what I remembered her, and now she even has her own TV series and musicals.

The latest Barbie musical The princess and The Popstar , first in 5 years, will be available on DVD from the 3rd September 2012, and we were given an opportunity to preview it before it's out!

In this musical, Barbie is starring as Princess Tori, who loves to play and have fun than performing her royal duties. Her favourite pop star Keira happen to visit the kingdom, and when they met, they discovered that they have a lot in common, including their magical secrets. They decided to swap identities, to live each others' life while taking a break from their own.

Something bad happened to the kingdom's secret but the girls saved the day. They each found inspiration by having lived each other's life too and became the best of friends.

At first I thought it was just a princess and a pop star living each other's life story, but there was more to the magical musical, and the songs were very catchy too! It has soon become Abby's favourite show, and we are watching it fairly frequently at the moment!

On top of the musical, the DVD also includes cut scenes, music video, a Polly Pocket webisode, Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse music video as well as the episode Happy Birthday Chelsea. You can now pre-order it through various shops, including Amazon UK. The DVD is retailed at £10.99.
