The Snowman 30th Anniversary Edition & Beanie Toy Giveaway - CLOSED

The Snowman 30th Anniversary edition DVD, The Snowman DVD giveaway, Snowman Beanie toy

About 3 weeks ago I've written a preview for The Snowman's 30th Anniversary edition. Since then, the weather has been cold cold cold! Some places has already seen their first snow, while we had a few odd days of frost and hailstones.

Although we are going away this Christmas and New Year, we are guessing that by the time we are back, we could still be catching some snow. We failed miserably in building our own snowman last year. How on Earth did that boy in The Snowman managed to build such a huge one on his own?! Why did ours' head never stayed on?!

As a blogger, I get to have information sent to me I otherwise won't spot - How to build a perfect snowman by master snow sculptor Duncan Hamilton from Hamilton Ice Sculptures. Now, how would the professionals build their snowman? Two words - Snow Sculpture! Duncan advised us to create a big block of snow using a DIY mould (4 panels of wood tied together to form a bottomless and topless box), set the packed snow inside for a couple of hours and start sculpting!

It is certainly another way to create a perfect snowman, where you can design it in any way you like. It might get the children's creativity going too. We might give this a go this year, AND the traditional way as well, and see which is easiest and fun to make!
