Another successful and fun house party, thanks to Flair and CBeebies! I'm getting the hang of this, soon I might just be able to hold a birthday party at home on our own for the kids! I must admit that they've made the party much easier to hold though, with all the fab toys, prizes and party games to keep the kids busy, and they've even provided cakes! The Betty Crocker Buttercream Style Icing that came with the party box was amazing! I'll definitely buy this for my other 'projects' as well!
This time we've gone for an all girls Tree Fu Tom party, and the girls have certainly shown some fantastic girl powers!!
We were sent a Tree Fu Tom Magic Moves Rap Mat (rrp £24.99), which the girls were fighting over to play with! Initially when we've tried the mat out ourselves the top layer slid against the bottom layer (the bottom layer was sitting safely on the carpet), but this hasn't caused any problems with the girls at all, so this really is a mat for the kids (3+) only. (Some male grown-up in the house was a bit upset about this)
The Tree Fu Tom Super Holopax (rrp £16.99) is great for role play, though most of the girls were too shy to role play! One of the super Tree Fu Tom fan had fun playing with it though! I like it that it's easy to attach and remove, so there is no bothering mummy to deal with the strap!
2 of the 3 Tree Fu Tom Flying Squizzles (rrp £3.99 each) were part of the prizes, while the girls were having fun flying the last one everywhere! We found ourselves hiding for cover frequently! Good that it's made of foam!
We were also sent 2 Tree Fu Tom Playsets (rrp £12.99 each), 4 Tree Fu Tom Deluxe Figures (rrp £7.99 each) and 6 Tree Fu Tom Basic Figures (rrp £4.99 each). 1 playset and 1 deluxe figure for the prizes, and the basic figures for the party bags. 2 girls couldn't make it so we managed to give each girl something to bring home. We've opened the rest for the kids to play with during breaks (which happened quite frequently!) Abby said that she needed more grass! Definitely great for imagination play! Really like it that they've included stands with the figures, with the attention to detail means that they can't really stand on their own, and these stands definitely help!
To make sure that the children were well entertained, we were also sent a Tree Fu Magic DVD (includes a sticker sheet, £8 from Amazon), activity books and books. I've given the DVD to one of the girl as she's such a big Tree Fu Tom fan, and she mentioned that she hasn't seen some of the episodes before. We love the 3D activity book, the kids kept going Oooo!! They were so occupied with the DVD, food, toys and games that they didn't had a chance to look through the books! They are fab for bed time stories though, with one being a flap book as well!
I love kids who are willing to participate! These girls were trying their absolute best with the quiz and colouring. Each of them got a sticker sheet at the end for great effort! The girls didn't have any brown and kept asking me what colours make brown! Others were creative and just use whatever they have. I love them all!
A party isn't a party without food! With the Jungle Junction party I made a road map and a swampy drink in Orange cups. This time I went more for the individual fun! I coloured the icing and piped grass with the green icing, and berries with the orange ones and turned these yummy fairy cakes into Tree Fu Tom Forest Cupcakes. It was a hit amongst the kids and adults alike! The Internet is packed with party food ideas as well and I made Hersheys Kiss and McVities Minis Chocolate Acorns, and Apple and Marshmallows Toadstools, both very easy to make with great impression! I've also made Sweet and Savoury Berries, oven baked potato stars, chicken bites, sausages and party eggs. Oh and berries juice! Me and hubby were dying to dig in with the kids! Maybe we should do a kiddy party for the adults next time we meet up with the family! A change to the cook offs we've done a few times! *hint hint*
We were so much more organised this time and everyone had a fantastic time the girls wanted a sleep over! I wonder what will be in store for our next house party?
