Easter Party

Celebrating Easter was never a family tradition for us. We do give Easter chocolate eggs to the kids and take them to Easter events, for example egg decoration, egg rolling and egg hunts etc, but we have never really celebrated it by holding a party and giving gifts. This year, I wanted to make it different. Instead of writing a Gift Guide, I held a party instead, to let the kids have fun as well as to give you an idea of what you can buy for the kids and party.

Usually I shop online for partyware as I thought that they were the only shops selling great ones. The bills were certainly not cheap though. Thanks to ASDA, Wilkinson and Poundland, I realised how wrong I was! You can still hold a fantastic party that is great with gorgeous (and yummy!) things but for a more economical price by shopping at theirs. You can then use the money you've saved up for much nicer prizes and favours such as Vivid and NICI toys. Places like Find Me a Gift and What 2 Buy 4 Kids provide a wide range of affordable gifts as well. And then throwing in a thing or two that's unique such as Eggnogg's colour-in tablecloth and you've got yourself a proper good looking and enjoyable party!

Up until Easter, I'll be introducing you to all the great things we've received and enjoyed at the party, to give you a more detailed idea about the products. But before that, I want to show you more about our party!

Apart from the Dark Chocolate Nests (which were too bitter for children but perfect for adults who love dark chocolate) and vegetables, I've bought most of the food from ASDA. I decorated the store bought fairy cakes with instant buttercream and told my family that I made them myself! They were a tad too sweet for brunch, but went well with a nice cup of tea afterwards! I just love the colour combination, very Easter don't you think?

Before my family woke up, I hid 10 normal chocolate eggs and 3 big ones around the living and dining room area. The kids were all eager for the Easter chocolate egg hunt during brunch! We turned them into little rabbits with ASDA's Easter Egg Hunt kit and let them go wild! Even the adults couldn't resist looking for them. Then my elder niece pointed out that I have hidden some eggs too high up and the little ones wouldn't be able to reach or spot. The girl has a point! Note taken (I felt awfully guilty haha!)

At the end she was very kind and helped the little ones with their egg hunt and everyone (well, apart from the babies) had their share of chocolates!

After that, we went on to do some colouring and crafting. Eggnogg has sent us a big colour-in tablecloth and a colour-in dress up fairy set for the party. The table cloth was a great idea! It's big enough for children to share (no pushing there!) and the final master piece was definitely worth keeping! I have forgotten to bring it back with me, once I got an image I'll definitely post it up for you to see.

The kids were getting tired from squeezing glitter glue out from tubes so we decided to leave the fairy set for Abby to do at home during Easter. They were still keen in decorating the eggs though!

We were sent a fantastic selection of craft materials from ASDA, Wilkinson and Poundland, and even I couldn't resist and decorated my own egg! When we put all the eggs together it looked awesome! This has to be the first time I ever felt so 'Eastery'!

Last but not least, the prizes and party bags! All the kids were doing really well, so even though I knew in my heart who the winner for each activity was, I've decided to give each kid a gift. Thanks to the companies (Vivid, NICI and What 2 Buy 4 Kids) who has provided the prizes to allow me to be a fair aunt instead of a competition judge!

Overall I think we all enjoyed the party, even the adults were enjoying the food and chocolates! Mind you, I was absolutely knackered after the party, but it was another lovely weekend spent with our loved ones nonetheless!
