DYLON Crafts

DYLON fabric, DYLON Craft, fabric paint

During the Easter holidays I've received a fantastic fabric craft range from DYLON, but since we've been taking things slow (really slow...) we only managed to try out some of their products. Instead of waiting until we've tried all of their products, I want to show you how much fun I had (yes, Abby's been shouting 'unfair' at me for a few days now, I'll have to dig out that old T I promised her this weekend) with their Fabric Pens and 3D Paints.

The Fabric Pens (approx £3.99 per pack of 5) comes in standard colours (green, yellow, black, red, dark blue) and fluorescent colours (yellow, orange, pink, blue and green). They look just like normal felt tip pens, and you use them exactly the same way, but after drying and a quick ironing, they will stay on the fabric.

The 3D paints (between £2 - £4 per bottle) comes in handy 25ml squeeze bottles with a fine tip for easy and perfect application. They come in Pearl, Puff, Glitter and Glossy, each in 5 different colours.

This is what I drew on one of Abby's T-shirt. She absolutely loved it and wanted to draw her own picture asap! The Fabric pens are very easy to use, dried up quick and the fluorescent colours are really fun and bright. They are great to add instant cheer to any dull or ordinary pieces. A quick iron will seal the colour better on the fabric.

The 3D paints are exactly what it says on the bottle: 3D plus glossy, glittery or pearly (I'm guessing puffy too!) They stand out really well even after fully dried, giving any pattern a fun texture. You just need a sturdier hand than me, and not to squeeze on the bottle too hard. It's always good to try it first on a piece of paper. There are more detailed instructions on DYLON's website under each product.

Out of the whole range these 2 are my favourites. Really easy to use and minimum mess. Once Abby gets the hang of it she just need to unscrew the cap and start working on her master piece. I just need to make sure she doesn't get artistic on good clothing or school uniform!

The next to try will be the above Fabric Paints in pots. Clay had poured half of the purple all over his PJ pants and needless to say, they are staying put. Will see what Abby can create with these together with the Fabric Pens and 3D paints!

All DYLON craft products are available at craft stores and most can be found on Amazon UK as well.
