ASDA Craft Shop via #cbias

Lately I've been so busy, I have completely forgotten about gifts for the teachers. After all, Abby will be moving on to the next year and although she'll still see the teachers around, they won't be her main teachers anymore. I remembered seeing a really lovely gift for teachers by Cara from Freckles Family, which is a lovely picture of a tree full of students' thumb prints and their name penciled next to each print. I wanted to do something similar with Abby for her teachers, and decided to use the ASDA Crafts Shop "shopportunity" through Collective Bias to shop for some craft materials for the presents.

When we arrived at Preston Fulwood branch ASDA's craft materials aisle, I was really impressed. Our local ASDA is a smaller store and have a much smaller selection of craft materials. The selection has inspired me to decorate our own photo frames as well, and I soon found the perfect one to go for - Magnetic Fridge Photo Frames! Perfect for teachers who has limited desk space!

After a good browse through, I came home with the above craft materials including mini washing pegs, fish erasers, paper clip swirls and assorted gems; thank you cards and some mini Cornetto chocolates too! I soon got to working on the photo frame, which was really easy as I just needed to align the little decorations and glue them on. The Loctite super glue I bought was worth every penny!

To be honest there wasn't a specific idea in mind. I saw the fish erasers and thought that they would be perfect to go on the photo frame, and the paper clips reminded me of water. The mini washing pegs were just so cute and I just couldn't resist the sparkling gems! Although there isn't a particular design, I'm still very happy with the end result.

I waited for Abby to come home while waiting for the "air bubbles" (made with 3D paint) to dry. We then spent a fantastic time together working on what thumb print pictures we should print on each teacher's photo frame picture. It was a shame that we didn't have a wider selection of ink pad colours or we could do most of the pictures with her prints.

We are both very chuffed with the end result, and we hope that the teachers will love their presents too! If you want to take a look at our whole craft materials shopping experience in ASDA, and what other bargains we've spotted during the shop, you can find plenty more pictures in my Google+ album. It also shows you why shopping at ASDA can be as pleasant as any other supermarkets, with equally good (and sometimes better) products at a much more affordable price.
