LEGO Batman The Movie - DC Super Heroes Unite DVD

Last year we've reviewed LEGO Batman 2 - DC Super Heroes video game when it just came out, and me, hubby, Abby and her cousin really enjoyed playing the game! We were really addicted to it and has spent quite a bit of time each day solving puzzles and saving Gotham City from the evil Lex Luthor, Joker and their gang.

Last week, we were given the opportunity to review LEGO Batman The Movie - DC Super Heroes Unite! The movie is based on the game we played, so we were really looking forward to watching it, while celebrating 2 birthdays too!

Obviously, the movie has to be much shorter than the game, so quite a bit of details had to be either taken out or shortened, but they've also included some new materials in the movie version, which made us who played the game go "Oooo so this is what happened!".

To win the election and eliminate Batman, Lex Luthor needed The Joker's help. Together they managed to take Gotham City down brick by brick, while Batman refused Superman's help (he doesn't trust Superman!) and tried to fight the evil duo off himself. He soon realised that Lex Luthor has a powerful weapon that can take his equipment apart, and at the end he had no choice but to accept Superman and other super heroes' help to save Gotham City.

The graphics is really good and fascinating to watch as it's animated LEGO! The dialog is really funny, especially when Batman is being very grumpy around Superman, and when The Joker is being mischieveous. I love the LEGO bats (they are so adorable!) and Cat Woman! I think I'll buy myself a LEGO Superheroes Catwoman Catcycle City Chase set as the LEGO her is so cute! Abby really enjoyed it as she was so into the game and it's like watching her game being played in front of her without pausing for solving puzzles.

The special features that comes with the DVD is fascinating to watch as well. Apparently they hired someone to film the clips using stopmotion technique with LEGO Batman bricks. The whole process is eye opening and it's really inspiring. We have Honestech Stopmotion Studio 4.0 software to review and we have been wondering what to do, now we know!

We are already looking forward to watch The LEGO Movie that'll be out in 2014! For now you can get a copy of the LEGO Batman The Movie - DC Super Heroes Unite DVD for £5 or Blu-ray for £7 exclusively from Tesco, and each copy comes with an exclusive LEGO Superman/ Clark Kent minifigure!
