Snuggle Pets

toy blanket, cuddly toy organiser, pillow pets

Me and the kids are a big fan of cuddly toys (hubby not so much as he's a more practical person hehe), especially those that are really really soft, cute and cuddly! When I did a toys clear out though, I had to give up a lot of our cuddly toys, some of them were mine from years ago, as there were just too many toys in this house.

Lately I noticed that more and more companies started making cuddly toys that are practical as well, including Flair. They have created the Snuggle Pets range, which has quite a few clever ideas. We were sent the following to review:

Tummy Suffers - Tan Dog (rrp £19.99)
Shamzees - Unicorn (rrp £19.99)
CuddleUpPets - Purple Monkey (rrp £19.99)

Tummy Suffers are big, soft and cuddly pets com storage bags where you can stuff almost anything through their mouth into their tummies. I fitted Purple Monkey the CuddleUpPet into Tan Dog the Tummy Suffers (it sounds horrible doesn't it. I actually have a picture of Shamzee the Unicorn's legs sticking out from his mouth but I decided not to post it up..), a travel pillow and pyjamas and it seems to me that there is still enough space for the odd toiletries.

I guess if a child is having a sleep over they might just be able to get away with just bringing a stuffed Tummy Suffers with them. There is even a little strap on the back of Tan Dog's neck for him to be hung from a hook, awwww! I did wonder whether it would be easier to carry him around if there are shoulder straps on him, but then he wouldn't be a cuddly pet then, but a fluffy bag with strong but not so cuddly shoulder straps. With his cheeky grin I'm sure kids won't mind cuddling him during their travels.

Unlike their Pillow Chums (cuddly pets that folds out to become a pillow), Shamzee is a pillow pet that transforms any UK standard sized pillows into a cuddly pet! Simply open their mouth and let them swallow a pillow whole, give them a good fluffing and they become one of the softest cuddly pet (depending on how soft your pillow is) there is. They are bigger, easier to sleep on, easier to pack away for travel and you can even wash them! I think I'll find it awkward as I have never slept on something so soft and fluffy before and it doesn't feel right (like I'm squashing the Unicorn!), but if you can get passed that, then you'll have the softest sleep like Abby did!

2 years ago I got hubby one of those massive hooded soft and fleecy blanket for Christmas, and it was one of his favourite Christmas present ever. It was really soft and cosy, perfect for a winter night while watching TV. The CuddleUppets are quite similar, equally soft and cosy, but way cuter! The Purple Monkey actually has hands, feet, a tail and a head, which can be used as a puppet by putting your hand inside it, how clever is that! Abby found it really funny and has been playing a lot with the puppet head! If it's a bit bigger so that it can cover a child's (Abby is 5) whole body plus a bit more to stop the wind from coming through the sides then it would be a perfect sleeping companion! Just a thought, how great would it be if they make a sleeping bag Snuggle Pet??

Overall we think that the Snuggle Pets idea is clever and creative, and the materials are really really soft, and really lovely to cuddle. we especially like the blanket, though it would be even better if it has different sizes to choose from. There are plenty of designs for each product, and there bound to be one suitable for any children.
