Christmas Face Painting with Cass Art and Snazaroo

We are sooo looking forward to this Christmas! Last time we gathered, all the adults slaved in the kitchen for a lavish Christmas meal, and we didn't really spend much time with the kids on Christmas day. This year, we all agreed to keep cooking at the minimum, and spend more time playing games with the kids. While considering what to do with them, I was introduced to Cass Art Art & Craft supplies shop.

When I visited their site for the first time, I immediately liked it. It is really clean and well organised, and it's really easy to find what you are looking for. They have a wide selection of art and craft supplies, and are sorted in the most useful way. If you are looking for a gift for an artist or crafter but not sure what to get, they have even sorted their products according to profession (e.g Gifts for Illustrators or Gifts for Sketchers), making it much easier to find what the person will like. They have also chosen a selection of gifts and craft sets that will make great Christmas gifts!

When I came across their Snazaroo Face painting range, I thought, maybe we can do a face painting session, with the kids drawing on each others face! Now that would be hilarious, especially when the youngest amongst them is only 1! I was kindly sent the Snazaroo Ultimate Party Pack (£14.50) to review, and it's absolutely fantastic!

The pack comes with 12 colours (2ml pans each in the colour of black and 2 white, 8 x 1ml colour pans in yellow, orange, red, pink, sky blue, indigo, green and brown, 2 water based sparkle colours in pink and purple), 2 glitter gels, 2 brushes, 4 sponges, a colour mixing corner in the tray and an instruction guide. The colours are made by hand with quality ingredients, hypoallergenic, non-toxic and fragrance free.

To be honest, when I first looked around for face paints that are suitable for children, Snazaroo was the only brand I have heard of, and as it's guaranteed to be safe for children, I wouldn't go for any other brand's face paints. People might think that paints made for children to play with can hardly be any good, but it really is! The colours are bright and bold, and it's really easy to use. You hardly need any water with it and the colours came out really easy and solid. I wasn't familiar with sponge painting and made it a bit too wet (you can see in Abby's second picture, the pink area), and I have learned that you really don't need to have a wet sponge for this!

I love it that the Ultimate Party Pack has all the colours of a rainbow, which saves you time from mixing colours, especially during a hectic party! The glitter gels are neutral, hence will go with any paint colours, and the water based metallic colours add interest to any face paintings. The instruction guide contains a lot of ideas for different face paintings, and you don't even need to follow them 100% (they are really good though!). Just find inspiration and paint it your way. Another good thing is that it's really easy to wipe the paint off. We only need a baby wipe or 2 to clean it up completely, then rinse the kids' faces with water after.

Overall I think that this face painting pack is worth getting (paints will last for 18 months after opening), especially if you have children who are keen in getting their face painted, let it be for birthdays, halloween or Christmas!

I really enjoyed browsing Cass Art's website and I am more enticed to shop with them. I have my eyes set on their stamp sets for finger paintings! Now just an excuse...
