ASDA Valentine's Day Meal for Two

Valentine's Day Meal, ASDA Extra Special Meal for Two, Valentine's Day 2 course Dinner for under £10

Yesterday I posted about affordable Valentine's Day goodies from ASDA, and mentioned about their Valentine's Day Meal for Two. Our "big ASDA" started the deal on Monday but when hubby popped in (near his office) to check them out, a lot of the choices were sold out already! Our local smaller ASDA didn't start the deal until Tuesday, but luckily they were well stocked up so we were spoiled for choices!

The £10 meal deal for two includes a main for two, 2 sides and a dessert for two, all from their Extra Special range. There is also a selection of wine and bubbly.

Left: Mains   Right: Sides (Apart from the steak that's our Main choice)

There were plenty of choices and we were a bit dazzled by the posh names! At the end we picked 2 meal deals up:

Main - British Beef Rump Steak, Slow-Cooked Lamb Shanks in Redcurrant & Port Sauce
Sides - Chunky Chips with Sea Salt, Goose Fat Potatoes with Thyme, Caramelised Shallot, Garlic & Herb Flatbread and Green Vegetable Medley
Dessert - Senga Strawberry Cheesecake Hearts and Melting Red Velvet Moments

And we had a lavish meal last night! I decided not to make the roast potatoes as there was just so much to eat. We couldn't even have pudding but for picture's sake (haha right!), me and hubby shared a Red Velvet pudding (it was gorgeous!). Cheesecake would have been lighter but we wanted to save it for the actual day and use it as Abby's birthday cake (I baked one last week for her birthday party). She really wanted it for pudding but we were full of excuses!

I would say that the meal for two is more than enough for 2 to share, especially if you go for the carbo side dishes and heavier desserts. I highly recommend the Caramelised Shallot, Garlic & Herb Flatbread, it's delish! My hubby's steak is the best but well. The meat was good though! The Mixed Vegetable Medley was great too. For £10 it's a great choice for an economical yet impressive Valentine's Day meal, and no fuss either! Apart from the steak, it was all about heating up the food, so you can still look gorgeous/ handsome and chilled out while sorting the meal out. Enjoy!

Disclosure: We were sent a gift voucher to get a meal for two for review purpose, and we bought an extra meal deal ourselves; all opinions are honest and our own
