My Friend Cayla's Tea Party at Hamleys London

Cayla Doll, Interactive doll, My Friend Cayla

Last Saturday Abby, me, several other bloggers and their children were invited to Cayla's tea party at London Hamleys. It was the first time we met Cayla and we quite like her already!

If you haven't heard of My Friend Cayla yet, she's an interactive doll who can interact with children in a completely different level than current dolls/ toys. She comes with a downloadable app, and with the help of that app she can chat with children and answer their questions, making her the best companion children can learn from and do homework with.

While we wait for Cayla to get ready and move into our home with Abby, I'd like to share with you the fantastic time we had at her party, and give you a sneak peak at what Hamleys' parties are like!

Cayla's tea party was held at Hamleys' party room, which was well decorated with lots of party snacks, cupcakes and strawberry milkshake filled with cereals for everyone, as well as tea and coffee for the adults.

We were looked after by Cayla's friends (the lovely Vivid Imaginations' PRs) and 3 Hamley's party entertainers. They were really funny, especially the cheeky Princess Milly who's been cheating her way through competitions! The children had their glitter tattoos done, which caused a stir amongst the adults as well. We are young at heart after all and who doesn't like sparkling pretty things?

The kids also played Hide and Seek, colouring, Pass the Parcel and Treasure Hunt. The treasure hunt is more like a Hamley's Toy Store tour as we were led all around the store looking for clues. We were giggling about their marketing strategy, although we did discover the World's oldest teddies, which wasn't Paddington Bear!

No party is complete without a goodie bag, and I think this is the most amazing goodie bag Abby have received from a party! We had to rush for our train and made it just in time, where she continued her fun by playing with the lovely AniMagic toys.

We had a really good time and glad to have met Cayla. The Wi-Fi at the store wasn't ideal and it was fairly noisy even in the party room, but we have learned much about her already. We can't wait for her to move in and get to know her better, maybe she can help me with Abby's 1000 and 1 amazing questions so I don't have to Google them myself anymore!

Cayla has already topped toy store's Top Christmas Gifts for 2014, and has won Toy Fair 2014 Best New Toys Tech Toys Category award. If you are interested as well, keep your eyes peeled for our review, and see whether it should top your Christmas shopping list as well!
