LEGO has been busy this Summer, introducing plenty of new sets and range for fans to collect! Apart from the LEGO City Arctic and LEGO Mixels series 2 that we've reviewed, we have also received something from the brand new LEGO Ultra Agents and LEGO Technic.
The LEGO Ultra Agents Riverside Raid (88 pieces, rrp £9.99) comes with the coolest LEGO car and coolest LEGO guns (in my opinion anyway)! The set is fairly easy to build (Clay built the minifigures and crates), and we love the shiny black and LED blue combination. The top of the quad bike can be released to turn it into a jet speeder, and the stud shooters can shoot pretty far. Normally LEGO launchers and catapults etc doesn't shoot very far and tend to feel weak, so we were surprised with how well these shooters work. I think we've lost 3 transparent orange dots already, but it's really fun to play with. Just make sure the kids don't point it at each other's eyes!
Hubby is most impressed with the LEGO Technic range. As an engineer, he appreciate how Technic explains the way things work, like the inside of an engine from the LEGO Technic Grand Prix Racer we've reviewed. So he really enjoyed building the LEGO Technic Twin-rotor Helicopter (145 pieces, rrp £7.99). We are both fascinated with how both rotors turn at the same time when we turn the end of the bar. It's not hard to see how it works on the LEGO model of course, it's applying the idea to a real twin-rotor helicopter that makes us go "Ahhhhh!".
Abby struggled a bit with the Single-rotor Helicopter design, though she did finish it at the end with some help (box comes with 2 instruction manuals).
We have to thank LEGO again for such a good box. There is something for everyone in the family - LEGO Mixels for Abby, City Arctic for me, Ultra Agents for Clay (it is his favourite car!) and Technic for hubby! We can't wait to see what's in our next LEGO Family Blogger box!
