Dormeo Memory Mattress

Dormeo Mattress, Memory Foam Mattress, affordable memory foam

We've found out recently that we can move to our new house a week earlier than planned! It's exciting and scary at the same time as that means that we will start moving our belongings over within 2 weeks time (pack pack pack!!), and move out from the current place by the end of November.

Although we've got almost everything to start us at the new place, the kids have grown (main reason why we are moving) and we will be needing new beds for them (we've been sleeping on mattresses on the floor for over 4 years, blimey!). Clay has been sharing our over 10 years old saggy mattress with us while Abby slept on her cot one, so we will definitely need new mattresses as well.

While we were working out whether it is worth buying a £1.3k mattress (cheeky sales person took us to their shop's most expensive mattress and let us try it out. Don't ever try it out before you looked at the price first!), the lovely PR from Dormeo has kindly offered us their original best selling memory foam mattress to try. We were free to choose a size, but Abby would need a new mattress the most, so we decided to go for a single size.

The memory foam mattress arrived rolled up, which was a surprise! I thought it would mean that the mattress is thin, so I was surprised again when I opened it up!

The Dormeo Memory Mattress (from £299.99 to £599.99, free shipping) single mattress firmness is medium, measures 90cm x 190cm and is approximately 13cm thick, which is almost as thick as our IKEA mattress (we have a thick mattress cover on as well).

It is Italian made and the company has been in the business for over 10 years. Each Dormeo mattress has an Ecocell(R) Core that adapts to your body's shape and temperature, and they have a 60 night comfort guarantee in place, if you aren't happy after, you can return it and they will refund you the cost of the mattress.

The single mattress is a standard size so it will fit most standard size single beds, which is important as it wouldn't be fun if we have to hunt for a specific bed frame size for it (like for IKEA *hrmph*).

Price wise I'd say that their mattress is affordable, especially after seeing mattresses costing over a thousand pounds! We each have slept on it, and all agreed (except Clay, who hasn't express his opinion about it but seeing that he slept well, I assume he approved too!) that the mattress is really comfortable to sleep on, provided good support, and we were also impressed that, as soon as we got up, the mattress looked like it has never been slept on (we have tested it for 2 weeks).

Overall it is a great mattress and we are glad that we were given the opportunity to try it out. You don't always have to go for high street brands for something good!
