Last Sunday we were invited to attend The Hut's Summer Event in Manchester's Artisan Bar and Kitchen, to check out their latest products and catch up with my lovely blogger friends that I haven't met for a very long time!
If you haven't heard of The Hut before, they are like an online luxury department store, selling products from brands like Le Creuset, Vivienne Westwood and Crabtree & Evelyn, and they also sell some of the latest products such as Sony's Limited Edition Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Playstation 4 1TB Console.
The Hut Group also owns many other online retail stores that you might be familiar with, for example HQhair, lookfantastic and IWOOT (I Want One of Those).
Sunday's weather was amazing! It was a bit warm inside Artisan Bar and Kitchen, but I had a great time catching up with my blogger friends, and Clay made some friends himself too! We were all very impressed with how well the boys played together with a box of LEGO! There was no fighting over pieces or anything like that at all, they simply carry on like they've been part of a team all along!
But of course, we weren't invited there just to catch up. After getting our drinks from the lovely PRs, we had a good look at some of The Hut's new products.
Toys and Games
Apart from LEGO and toddler toys such as a big Ninky Nonk from The Night Garden and plush toys (I didn't get a good look, the little ones were having so much fun with the toys it didn't feel right to bother them!), the Game of Thrones Monopoly caught my full attention! We are big GoT fans, and I had to immediately share a picture of it with my family!
After a quick look on their website, I found that they carry a brilliant selection of games and toys. There is a great mix of top selling brands and toys, and some unique and stylish ones. Although they don't necessary carry the whole range, you can tell that everything was carefully selected.
The Hut aren't specialised in shoes, but there are so many that has caught my eyes! Ugg Boots are fairly standard, but Dr. Martens and Vivienne Westwood for kids (I think they haven't been released on the website yet when I was writing this post)?! They are so adorable!
And then I saw Vivienne Westwood's flip flops on their website. *insert heart eyes emoji*
I have been checking out Asics sportswear before as they are highly recommended for fitness, but the ones I saw weren't really my style (the ones I liked weren't available in the UK then). I had another thought about it after hubby told me (after checking them out himself) that they are really well engineered, even though they might look simplistic (the ones we saw at the event).
So I checked out The Hut's Asics collection, and it was much bigger than I thought! Then I saw the Asics Gel-Lyte V 'Chilli Pepper' trainers. Oh My Goodness! I don't normally look at green for wear but how cute and refreshing is that colour?!
They are so pretty!
I gotta stop looking at them!
Nude is still going strong this Summer, and I thought the Dune's purse looks really good together with Calvin Klein's large tote!
I love the size of Fiorelli's bag though. I think I need a bag that size (small tote?) this Summer as I'll be needing to carry a lot more things such as sun screen, wipes, medications and possibly my travel planner. The bag is big enough for all that, but not so big that I'll struggle to find things inside. It's a beautiful bag too!
(If only if there is a bag that remains light in weight no matter how many things you put in it! I'll buy it straight away!)
According to The Hut, copper (or rose gold!) is a big thing for homeware. I have been loving the colour since the beginning of this year, and the ones featured at the event did catch my eyes, but I wasn't really into photo frames, so I was really excited when I saw this side table in a corner! It's a lovely piece and will look great in a modern living room. It might be a bit hazardous for kids though so I'll just have to wait until the kids are older.
The Hut have a great range of beauty products as well, and they stock a great selection of products from brands that aren't easily found on the high street such as Cloud Nine, Sigma, Paula's Choice and Balance Me.
Apart from browsing their summer collection, we were also treated with unlimited drinks (Prosecco anyone?) and rustic snacks from Artisan Bar and Kitchen. AND we were given a goodie bag as well! Clay and Abby were all over the LEGO NEXO Knights, while I discovered the best hair brush ever for Abby's thick and super tangled hair (Tangleteezer won't work on her). I'm also given a few beauty samples to try.
I had fun browsing The Hut's products at their event, but I had even more fun browsing their website! I think their website is very easy to navigate, loads fast and I love the clean design and good sized pictures. Products are interesting, and there is a great selection too.
They currently have a 15% off on your first order, free standard delivery on orders over £20, and free UK next day delivery for orders over £50. They ship Worldwide, and you can select your own currency from their currency drop down menu (11 choices!).
As I shop online most of the time now, and have been shopping at a few of their sister online retail stores, it is great for me to be introduced to The Hut. Their prices are compatible, and some even comes with free gifts (such as LEGO NEXO Knights and Trunki). I think The Hut will be another great place to shop especially for Christmas.
