LEGO Friends New Adventure Camp Range ft. Rafting Set

LEGO Friends Adventure Camp, LEGO Friends new for 2016, LEGO adventure

We love surprise parcels, especially from our favourite brands! A couple of weeks ago we've received a really lovely one from LEGO Friends, which not only comes with one of their latest construction set from their new Adventure Camp range, it also come with a LEGO Friends eco bag that is now our favourite eco bag!

So while I casually take over the bag, Abby jumped straight into building the exciting LEGO Friends Adventure Camp - Rafting set!

The new LEGO Friends Adventure Camping Rafting set (RRP £24.99, target age group 6 - 12 years) contains 320 construction pieces, including (but not limited to) 2 LEGO Friends mini-doll figures Andrea and Olivia, a bear, rafting boat, river bridge that comes with a camp fire and falling tree function, and a plastic fabric tent.

The first thing that caught our attention is the plastic fabric (quite soft) tent cover. It is one of the custom LEGO piece, so they've provided a spare one in the box. It's a very clever design and it holds up really well by just attaching it to the bed frame on both sides (see above picture on the left).

The falling tree function adds excitement to the Rafting set too, and kids can role-play a tense "crossing the finish line just in time" scene!

There are a lot of other details put into the set too, with a water fall on one side of the river bridge, and climbing wall on the other.

This is one of our favourite feature - toasting marshmallows by the camp fire! It made me want to go camping for the first time ever!

We also love the bear trying to catch a river fish. I think if the piece that holds the fish to the mount is transparent, it will look even more like the fish is really swimming around the bear!

The set also comes with a rafting boat of course, you can't go rafting without it! But we are definitely more excited about the tent, the camp fire, falling tree and the bear catching a fish!

The LEGO Friends Adventure Camp range also comes with a Tree House and an Archery set, and together they make outdoor adventure look really fun!

Abby really likes the LEGO Friends Adventure Camp Rafting set, probably because she's a very outgoing and adventurous person herself (she took 2 rounds at Geronimo Festival's SkyLine zip line!), and it is one of the LEGO set that she wants to keep together (Clay likes to break pieces from sets so he can make his own creation with them, which is great and should be encouraged, but a bit upsetting for us who likes our set intact!). I think it will be great if LEGO Friends expand their Adventure Camp range because I'm sure there are loads of young explorers out there who'll love it! We would definitely love to see a Tree Top Adventure in the range if possible!

On a side note, LEGO Elves, another one of our favourite LEGO construction range, has added 6 new sets this year. I think the new sets are worth checking out because dragons and evil elf witch are introduced to the story! The sets are very colourful and vibrant, with beautiful transparent pieces too! Just look at the above picture featuring a dragon egg and baby wind dragon! I think it's one of the best £8.99 LEGO set out there. And that's a chocolate bar Emily Jones is holding by the way!

I don't think I'll have a problem with Christmas presents this year! (Did I just mention Christmas? Oops!)
