Baru Handcrafted Marshmallows

Marshmallows, Baru food, food for Christmas

It's getting really chilly lately, and I just feel like snuggling up under a blanket and have something warm with something sweet to take the miserable weather away (my workout downfall!).

One of the things I will go for in a cold day is marshmallows with a hot cup of tea (can't do cocoa all the time!), but I'm fairly picky about them. I love them soft and pillowy, so I'll never go for those in the supermarket. The only one that I do like can only be found in smaller stores, and I don't normally go shopping except in our local supermarket.

I can make my own marshmallows, and fresh ones are always the best. But it's quite a bit of work too for something that doesn't last (they disappear too soon).

When I heard about Baru, a company that sells handcrafted marshmallows, I wanted to give it a try, not only because I think that their Christmas gifts look rather cute, but if they can give me the occasional fix I need without me needing to make my own, that would be fabulous too!

I was kindly sent their handcrafted Raspberry & Mint marshmallow to try, which comes with 6 chunky squares of pretty marshmallows for £2.75. I do think it's quite expensive for normal indulgences, but they are handcrafted in Belgium, and they are really delicious!

The Raspberry & Mint flavour is quite Christmassy, and I felt a tiny Raspberry seed in one of the marshmallow, which surprised me because it meant that they used real raspberry puree to make these fluffy marshmallows. The texture is great too.

I love their cute Christmas range, and I think they will make gorgeous luxury Christmas gifts. It's readily available online, although I'm not sure how long it takes to deliver. It's worth keeping some in stock if you love gourmet marshmallows, or would like to gift them to someone.
