Clay is over the moon with his new LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS sets! The NEXO KNIGHTS and the villains are getting more and more powerful, which are reflected in the new LEGO NEXT KNIGHTS construction sets. The designs for the ones we've received for review are certainly impressive:
Battle Suit - Aaron (70364, RRP £7.99, great for age 7+)
Clay's Falcon Fighter Blaster (70351, RRP £44.99, great for age 8+)
Clay couldn't wait to start building! He built Aaron all by himself, and only needed help with the Falcon Fighter Blaster because he couldn't wait for it to be completed so that he can play:
I must say that he did really well with the Falcon Fighter Blaster as there are quite a bit of LEGO Technic pieces, and he managed to connect most of them together on his own.
Aaron is very cool too because he's an archer. He certainly looks really powerful in his Battle Suit! The suit is highly poseable, with Aaron sitting in the chest unit, which is brilliant as LEGO minifigures can sit inside, which makes more sense than standing.
The Battle Suit range comes with 5 shields each, and you can combine 3 of the shields' power together. Scanning this combined power shield into the game (LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS Merlok 2.0 free app) will allow your character to use an extra powerful skill to defeat your enemies!
You can also combine parts of other 2017 Spring LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS playsets with the Battle suit sets to make them bigger and badder!
LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS Clay's Falcon Fighter Blaster looks amazing, no wonder it's high on Clay's want list! It comes with Falcon Fighter Blaster, Clay, Clay Bot, buildable Grimroc Stone Monster and 2 Brickster figures. It also comes with 3 scannable shields.
Personally, I think that the Bricksters are very cute! We also love the colour theme for the new LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS enemies. I haven't really followed the story but it looks like they are of the Earth (rocks?) element.
Clay built the minifigures and Grimroc Stone Monster by himself. The wings of the stone monster are made of soft plastic, so it flaps when you move it, making it look really cool and more life like. We love the blues and purples, and his giant mace! He's the one using the forbidden power, so even on no gadget days, Clay can role play the game with the sets, where the stone monster unleashes this horrible power at his NEXO KNIGHTS!
The Falcon Fighter Blaster look just like a falcon with gorgeous feathers. The wings can expand with the head (cockpit) moved closer to the body. It has a space for 2 of the shields (1 inside the treasure chest), and can hold both Clay and Clay bot's weapons while they focus on flying the ship and attacking enemies using the 3 6-stud shooters.
Attached to the end of the Falcon Fighter Blaster is Clay Bot's Recon Jet, which can detach and fly off to fight alongside the Falcon Fighter Blaster.
As mentioned above (when introducing Battle Suit Aaron), you can combine the Recon Jet with any of the Battle Suit sets to upgrade the Battle Suits!
I like it that you can combine 2 playsets together to maximise play. It also makes it more fun to collect the range. The LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS range have some really clever designs for their vehicles, and the fact that you can combine the playsets with a game app makes the range a lot more interesting. It's definitely worth looking into!
