Interplay Craft Box - Mermaid Charm Jewellery
When I saw Interplay's new Craft Box Charm Jewellery range at the Toy Fair, I fell in love! They were really attractive, and I think any children who loves sparkly items will love the range. Interplay has kindly sent us their latest addition to the range - Mermaid Charm Jewellery to review, and even Clay loves it!
He basically took all the best beads and charms from the box and put them on one bracelet. Me and Abby are still working on an approach to get him to give up on some of the charms that we wanted!
Interplay Craft Box - Mermaid Charm Jewellery kit (RRP £9.99, suitable for age 4 years +) comes with the following materials that can make up to 10 pieces of jewellery:
10 Metal Charms (5 silver colour, 5 gold colour)
75 Bicone Beads (blue, green, purple)
125 Round Beads (silver, fuchsia, purple and coral)
20 Pearl Beads (in pale gold and cream)
5 purple Clasps
10 clear Clasp Beads
10 Shells and Starfish Beads
45 Faceted Beads (Pink, Blue, Turquoise)
10 Key Rings
4m purple Stretch Cord
1 Instruction Booklet
Look at how stunning the beads are?
Apart from tying the knots on both ends, making the charm bracelets are really easy. Simply thread your favourite beads onto the cord. For the metal charms, you'll have to slide them into the key rings so that the charms are facing the right way.
To add the clasps, you'll need to tie a knot on the small clasp beads, which will fit inside each part of the clasp, to keep the clasp in place (otherwise they will fall off the small knot). The rest is up to your creativity!
There are some nice examples in the booklet, like putting a pearl bead between the 2 gold metal shell charms, to make a pearl oyster! We wouldn't have thought of this otherwise.
Both kids like how simple it is to make a bracelet, and the beads are gorgeous as well! But Clay took all the nice shells and star fish beads for his bracelet (right picture below, middle bracelet):
It looks a bit like a surfer's bracelet?
Anyway, at least he left us with the metal charms. I think the only problem we had was that the key ring is too big, so it slides around the bracelet. Maybe it was meant to do that, but maybe a small number of smaller key rings will be great to add to the kit so that we can keep the charm in place. I do think it'll be trickier for little ones to use the smaller key rings, so that'll be a job for us parents hehe.
Overall, we really love the beautiful charm jewellery kit! We love all the beads, and they are in our favourite colours too.
If your child loves fairies, or a snow theme, Interplay have the charm jewellery kit in those versions too! You can buy Interplay's Craft Box Charm Jewellery Kits now on their website and all good toy stores.
