F.A.B - Fun Arty Box (monthly): Creative Clay Creations

Our kids love crafting, but require lots of inspiration. We aren't familiar with many crafting materials as well, so when we heard about The Creation Station's monthly Fun Arty Box (FAB!) that comes with plenty of craft materials and craft project ideas, we were eager to try them out.

We were sent the current FAB box - Creative Clay Creations, which was a surprise as it was bigger and heavier than we expected!

The craft project book has over 10 inspiring projects you can do using the materials included in the box. There are extra ideas given as well that will require separate materials, but it's great for inspiration.

We had lots of fun playing with the different clays included in the box. Each of the clay has a very interesting texture, which are perfect for children to explore. The stone clay has a beautiful and realistic stone effect, although it's also the hardest to mould and can be a bit messy, but we really like it! The kids kept claiming the stone pebbles I made!

Colour of the foam and silk clay are randomly chosen, and we were glad to have a black (silk clay) and white (foam clay), which allow the kids to use them for eyes (black is also Clay's favourite colour!).

We first made small key rings, cupcakes, rock pebbles and star fish based on the craft book's ideas, but we soon moved on to making our own things! Normally we would sit there for ages wondering what we should make, so although we didn't do everything from the craft book, we were certainly inspired by it, and spent some lovely quality time together creating things:

Not all are complete but we had lots of fun, and we are very happy with our creations! Clay really likes his snake and monster keyring, and Abby loved her foam pillow and Pacman. She even made a girl out of clay!

The pebbles look really good, and I think I'll be using them to make some cute charms! I also made some foam discs, which I'll use as the backing of some paperclips.

Although we didn't do all the projects in the FAB box, we were very pleased with all the new materials that came with it. It was our first time playing with silk and stone clays and we love them! The quantity is very generous too. We had so much fun but we only used a small amount from what came with the box. No doubt we'll be having more fun with the rest soon!

I think FAB box will make a lovely gift, and it'll help with inspirations and introduction to new materials too. The Creative Station has lots of other craft materials available in their shop as well, and they hold craft parties and classes too. You can check their website out for more information.
