Blog On Christmas 2017 and Blog On Toy Awards

Many people might think that bloggers are people who just sit behind their computer and type away all day, but I can assure you that blogging is just as involving as any other jobs (although some blogs for leisure of course). We don't just socialise online either, as we do have opportunities to meet with other bloggers and PRs face to face at conferences and events, such as my favourite bloggers conference I just attended last Sunday - Blog On Conference.

This year's Blog On Xmas (it's Christmas themed with the Grinch and cheeky elves stalking us!) was held in a new venue - Hotel Football in Manchester. It was very different from MSI (Museum of Science and Industry), but it certainly has its perks, such as the possibility for the brand area to look like a Christmas Market (I'm feeling all festive now!), snacks and drinks on each floor that's involved, and their chips are amazing! I do wish I have taken more pictures now but I was really enjoying myself chatting to people I knew online for years, and meeting new people too. You can however find plenty of quality pictures on Blog On's website.

We were treated with breakfast at the Blog On Toy Awards floor, where we voted for the best toys in each categories. There were a lot of brilliant entries and it was quite hard to vote for the best as we only had 1 vote per category, it felt great though to see several of my choices in the top 3 as it meant that others thought the same! The top 3 toys for each category, voted by all the bloggers at the conference are:

1st My Kiddie Winkles Wild West Wigwam
2nd Light Burst Scooter by H Grossman

Blog On provided many very interesting and helpful sessions throughout the day, but when I started the day in the brands' Christmas market, I had so much fun chatting with PRs and friends while looking at new products, especially those that'll make amazing Christmas gifts, I completely lost track of time, and only managed to attend one of the session!

Although I missed out on some helpful tips, I've had a super busy and enjoyable day that I forgot about food and cake, and managed to endure the pain in my feet until it was almost home time (I should wear flats next time).

The lovely brands has given us lots of samples on the spot or in our goodie bags to take home, and I also brought home a few items to review! So if you

  • love slime and wonder if Liquid Lava Putty is your thing,
  • want to know more about the new HEXBUG game Buggaloop from Ravensburger and/ or
  • want to know more about the slightly smaller version of the Blog On Top Creative Toy Award winner Xtrem Bots Trooper Bots - Smart Bot by Trends UK (Smart Bot is 4" shorter and won't be shooting darts at you)

as well as many that are arriving over the next few weeks, then make sure you keep your eyes peeled for our reviews!

We also did a secret santa Christmas gift swap, and look what I got!

I've always wanted a light box! It is the best secret santa gift I've ever received (although the kids have taken over the box and have been scribbling messages to me haha)!

I want to use this opportunity to thank Laura Seaton from Tired Mummy of Two and the Blog On team for yet another amazing blogger conference. I love the friendly and chatty atmosphere, the opportunity to speak to old and new friends, and the opportunity to meet up with PRs that I normally won't see unless I go to London. The sessions' topics are brilliant and very helpful, and I'll be hunting down slides for the ones I missed!

Judging from next year's schedule, I might be attending Blog On in May instead, and I'm really looking forward to it as I haven't been to the May one for years!
