Review: Tommee Tippee Sangenic Wrap & Go

For anyone who's had or is having a baby, it's easy to understand what we are putting ourselves through when we decided to go out.

We make sure the baby bag is packed.

Nappies? Check. Nappy bags? Check. Wipes? Check. Nappy cream in case of sore bum, extra clothes for changing, extra extra clothes in case of the change of weather, bib for drooling, hand towel for wiping off sick (and tears on the odd occasion), sun cream and hat (or raincover), cardigan and blanket; soothers and teething rings; bottles, milk powder and hot water. Check check check check check!

Then we make sure that baby has had a feed and nappy changed. We put the baby in the car seat, the car seat in the car, and do a final check before we set off. Then we crossed our fingers throughout the journey hoping that baby won't make a poo.

It was much easier when A was a baby. We often found ourselves saying: let's stay in instead. But now that she is 3 and full of energy, we have to go out. It means that we change nappies more frequently outside as well!

Just a week ago C decided to make a poo in a restaurant that doesn't have any baby changing facilities. They didn't mind me changing him in a corner, but I minded very much about keeping a dirty nappy in my bag! The flimsy supermarket branded nappy bags we used wasn't really going to keep the smell in, let alone the bacteria!

So you can imagine how delightful I was when tommee tippee asked me to do a review on their new Sangenic Wrap & Go - a travel size nappy wrap dispenser.

About the product:

  • £4.99 for the dispenser (including 2 rolls of wraps, 15 wraps per roll) either in blue or pink
  • £4.99 for 3 refills (15 wraps per roll) in pink, blue and green (you get 1 of each colour in the pack)
  • Currently exclusive to Tesco
  • It is a latest addition to tommee tippee’s popular Sangenic nappy disposal range
  • Dispenses nappy wraps with easy tie handles that lock away germs and odour to allow storage of used nappies with confidence
  • Wraps are anti-bacterial, killing 99% of germs on contact, and infused with a fresh citrus scent to combat odour
  • Fits neatly into a change bag, hand bag, or will clip onto your baby’s pram, pushchair or even your car door

My review:

I was surprised at how small it is (only a bit bigger than in this pic!). This will definitely fit nicely in a day bag.

When I opened up the packaging, my nose was filled with a lovely scent. It is supposed to be lemon, but I think it smelled more like sweets! None of that anti-bacteria toiletries smell that I first expected.

The bags are a good size, so no problem if baby has done a big and messy one! The quality is of course much better than the supermarket brand I am using.

The only thing I think that can be improved on is adding some kind of cutter on the dispenser to make it easier to tear the bags off. It doesn't even need to be sharp.

Refilling is extremely easy. There are instructions on the back of the package but I didn't look and was still able to put it together.

One tip, do keep the sticker on until you have put the roll inside the dispenser, less fiddly!
