Christmas with Warner Brothers

Warner Brothers DVD, Warner Bros DVD

Apart from catching up with family gossip, sorting out meals and watching the children go crazy opening presents, we normally spend the rest of Christmas watching something together. There is many movies out there but we normally go for something less festive, especially those that the children can't watch (something spooky anyone?!).

Warner Brothers has sent us a selection of their DVDs for this Christmas, guaranteeing that there is something for everyone.

For the children:

The Polar Express, Christmas DVD, Christmas children movie

The Polar Express, Christmas DVD, Christmas children movie

The Polar Express (U)

- A story about a boy who does not believe in Santa and his journey on the Polar Express

When this movie just came out, I wasn't very keen in the way they have illustrated the story. I thought that a movie should either be an animation or using real life cast but not something in between. Then hubby told me that he fell asleep in the cinema so I never bothered watching it.

I am very glad that Warner Brothers have sent me this show to review as both me and Abby have enjoyed it thoroughly. It was interesting from the start, exciting in the middle and touching at the end. And after the show we've got something (magic bells and believes) to talk about as well! The show is great for children and adults alike. If you've already seen it, you might want to try their 3D version for the extra excitement!

For Her:

New Year's Eve 2012, Christmas DVD, Christmas movie

New Year's Eve (12)

- On the day of New Year's Eve things weren't ideal for some and disastrous for others.

Have you seen Love Actually? Did you like it? If yes then you would want to watch New Year's Eve this year, which is even better (although I do remember Love Actually's sound track more) The message is simple, look back, spot your mistakes and regrets and make it better again in the New Year, exactly what New Year is about.

This all star show is a must watch for the ladies, but I'm very sure that the gents will enjoy it as well, especially with so many big names and stars to spot! Me and hubby were playing the "Oh! Oh!! So and So is in this show too!" or "Ooo she looks really familiar! Where did we see her again?!" games. A really good show and easy to watch with chuckles and the odd tear.

For Him:

Batman movie, Christmas DVD, The Dark Knight Rises

Batman movie, Christmas DVD, The Dark Knight Rises

Batman: The Dark Knight Rises (12)

- Batman went into hiding after what happened in The Dark Knight, but was forced to come out when Bane took over Gotham City.

Absolutely loved this show. I think it is by far the best Batman movie I've seen! The story is fantastic (I was still thinking about the show the day after!), packed with action and I loved the sense of humor throughout. I have to admit that I was distracted occasionally by how much Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Heath Ledger looked alike, and that Tom Hardy hardly looked like himself in Bane's costume! I would definitely watch this show again in Blu-Ray for the CGI scenes!

It doesn't matter whether you are a Him or Her or a child (well, there is an age limit), you'll regret it if you don't watch it, it is that good! This is the final of the Batman trilogy by Christopher Nolan. I wonder whether he will extend it to a part 4?

Warner Brothers have more than just the above to keep you entertained this Christmas of course, but they have certainly chosen the best for this Christmas!
