The Incredible Adventures of Professor Branestawm DVD (U rating, last approximately 60 minutes; ~ £7.99) is based on the 13 books series of the same name written by English author Norman Hunter. The series is about an absent-minded inventor Professor Theophilus Branestawm (as in Brainstorm), who is always inventing something bizarre, which are either always malfunctioning or work in an unexpected way that lead him to incredible adventures.

Well known British actors such as Harry Hill, Ben Miller, David Mitchell and Miranda Richardson starred in the film adaption, which is about (partially quoted) an evil businessman and officious local councillor planning to have Branestawm branded a danger to the community so that they can knock down his workshop to make way for giant munitions factory in the middle of the town. It's down to Branestawm, his friends and his new young apprentice Connie to save everything he has.

Connie's character got me and Abby talking, as girls in the past were brought up to please their future husbands. Connie however, is like Abby and loves knowledge and science.

We especially love the part when Branestawm gave Connie a tour to his "inventory", and were chucking at several references to modern technology and another show!

The movie is funny throughout, and the kids enjoyed it till the end. It's definitely a film worth watching with the family!
